Last time in Dar.

Just got back from Zanzibar.

Krystal leaves tomorrow. Most of the rest of us on Friday. Sigh. Can't believe it's almost over!

Time to relax and pack...

Zanzibar

made it to zanzibar safe and sound on Sunday afternoon.

took the 9:30am ferry and it arrived around 11:45am.

spent the day on another boat ride to Prison Island where we did some snorkeling and then got to see giant turtles! spent the evening walking around stonetown (the main port city in zanzibar).

on monday we woke up and took a van all the way to the southern part of the island where we swam with dolphins. pretty cool. then about halfway up the island where we went on a spice tour. cool stuff. we made it to our hotel at Nungwi beach (Amaan Bungalows) at about 4:30pm and just relaxed for the night.

today was just a day around the beach!

and tomorrow we are leaving here at 11am to head back to stonetown where we will walk around for a bit, eat lunch, and then be able to catch our ferry at 3:30pm. should get us back to Dar in time for dinner!

this place is beautiful. please look up the names of the places we went on google and you will be able to get an idea of what we were doing.

all for now. probably write one last time from dar!

back in Dar

We made it back to Dar Es Salaam at around 3:30pm today after an exciting trip through TWO of Tanzania's beautiful National Parks. Udzungwa Mountains National Park, and Mikumi National park. there are too many pictures from each to go through at the moment, but be assured, it was stunningly beautiful in both places!

on to Zanzibar for the final leg of our journey tomorrow. Our boat leaves Dar Es Salaam at 9:30am and should take about two hours to reach Zanzibar. We will stay in Stone Town (the main port city) for one night and then the north part of the island (Nungwi beach area - at Amaan Bungalows) for two nights. beautiful beaches to see, calm warm water to swim in, dolphins to watch, and spices to taste and see growing in their natural place!

Will probably write from the island.

hope all is well back home!

5 of 5 - Misc. Photos

Thanks for reading! selecting pictures and posting them online...something that probably would have taken at most an hour to do at home. I started after lunch, and now i am off to dinner. hope you enjoy!

We are leaving Imiliwaha tomorrow morning at 6:00am (didnt we just get here?!) to drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park (just southeast of Mikumi if you cant find Udzungwa on a map). we should arrive at the place we are staying tomorrow before dinner. then thursday morning we are hiking the mountain to the waterfall...maybe will see some monkeys too.

on to mikumi national park (staying in the city of mikumi on thursday and friday nights, doing the actual safari where we will see elephants and giraffes on friday) and then Dar on Saturday.

we will most likely post again from Dar. until then, have a good week and thanks for all your comments!
